Museum Flooring: Art on Every Surface

Sometimes a work of art isn’t hung on the wall, but rather laid on the floor. At LaGrange Art Museum’s Center for Creative Learning artwork is always being created and displayed but what’s underfoot is also a work of art.

LaGrange Art Museum Center for Creative Learning is located in LaGrange, Georgia and it’s designed to serve the needs of the community by advocating art education and outreach. The museum flooring had to pair well with the artistic side of the museum but also prove to be durable and willing to withstand constant wear and tear; from paint to food. Parterre’s premium vinyl flooring was the perfect answer to their design needs. Lagrange Art Museum chose HardCore: Grid Teotihuacan for the main area of the flooring and bordered it with InGrained: Lancaster Natural.

“In the past, we had a cement floor with carpet tiles in this area, and we simply could not keep it clean,” says LaGrange Art Museum Director Judy Freeman. “So when it came time to replace it, we wanted a versatile flooring that offered a high-end look for a gallery setting, but could keep pace with a kids’ play area. The Parterre flooring really meets our goals for a multipurpose room, and we don’t have to worry about staining.”

Parterre’s premium vinyl features a heavy-duty, durable wear layer that ensures that a product will stand the test of time and keep its design intact for years to come. With proper maintenance and care, Parterre’s flooring outlives its warranty providing a long lasting, durable solution for spaces that have constant foot traffic and need to be easy to clean. The design of the floor is what makes Parterre stand out from other vinyl flooring manufacturers because it’s unique and each one is a work of art. Although the main goal of this flooring was to provide a surface that’s tough and easy to clean, the LaGrange Art Museum ended up with a real work of art that will displayed for years to come.
