In addition to its beauty and sophistication, commercial hardwood flooring offers many health benefits, including limited accumulation of dust or pollen — as opposed to carpet, which often harbors bacteria and other allergens. Wood flooring is durable and environmentally friendly and can last for hundreds of years with proper maintenance. Wood is also classified as a carbon neutral product by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
When it comes to aesthetics and design, wood is a popular choice if you’re looking to add a bit of luxury to any space.
Parterre’s hardwood flooring products are not only designed for strength and durability — each collection offers a palette of beautiful and sophisticated species. Plus, there are no repeated designs in engineered hardwood, which makes each piece truly unique.
For nearly 30 years, we have worked alongside skillful manufacturing teams to research new innovations for optimized design and performance. At Parterre, we understand what it takes to craft flooring and surface products with durability, stability and clarity in mind.
Engineered hardwood consists of layers, with the top and bottom layers being 100% natural wood from a variety of species. The middle layer features a core of 5-7 layers of plywood that intersect in different directions.
The glue down installation method involves using an adhesive to fasten planks to the floor using either a hard-set adhesive or a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Glued down planks are perfect for commercial application in areas with high foot traffic.
The staple down method is slightly more advanced than the other methods. Planks are lined up and held in place with glue, finishing nails or metal fasteners. The planks are lightly hammered together and then stapled to the ground, which adds to their durability and lifespan. This method can also be used with nails or fasteners to add to the aesthetic, an additional look to the already natural hardwood.
Click together is an interlocking method that can be installed over any structurally sound concrete. There’s no specialized backing and we recommend glue be used as an adhesive. This is a similar installation technique to the loose lay method for LVT.
Hardwood flooring is an ideal choice for commercial interior environments. Durable and sustainable, commercial hardwood flooring offers design options for a variety of spaces, such as multi-family buildings, offices, restaurants and retail.
